I was contacted by Doctor Bek to do an original piece of art with a meaningful story to represent her family, friends and colleagues. Connection throughout the Kimberley, journeys and many other personal stories. I loved that Dr Bek wanted it colourful, vibrant and full of happiness just like her personality. What was most exciting is that the original piece of artwork was also going to be used as a kitchen splashback. So now she has the most colourful and beautiful kitchen. I can not stop looking at the transformation photos which I have shared with you. Dr Bek is over the moon and very excited. Please enjoy the photographs. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask :)

Artwork displayed on Yagan Square Digital Tower - Perth City, December 2022.

My artwork displayed in Perth City - Yagan Square Digital Tower.

During the 2022 festive season my artwork made an appearance on the 45 metre high Yagan Square Digital Tower.

My family and I cheered with excitement and were quiet shocked how amazing my artwork looked in such a large scale.

What was more exciting was not just my artwork screened, but pieces of my 15 year old daughter Kathleen’s artwork, my sons and mother’s. It was an exciting moment for the whole family. I would like to thank Yagan Square for displaying our artwork.

Blog Post - Bluethumb Art Gallery 2022 Finalist

Bluethumb Art Gallery Finalist

Beautiful, bright & colourful artwork “My Mother’s Country,” 2022 on stretched canvas. Painting represents my mothers first memories of growing up around Ooldea/Oak Valley on Kokatha Country on the Farwest Coast of South Australia. My mother was born at Koonibba Mission on Wirangu Country near Ceduna where the Wirangu, Kokatha and Mirning Aborigines were resettled due to Government policies of colonisation . My mother was adopted by her Grandmother and her Grandfather. They were rabbit trappers who did this a living. My Great grandmother, her husband and my mother lived a transient life along the West Coast of South Australia as they kept chasing casual work on farms to survive. My painting represents all the places they travelled to and the beautiful countryside they got to see. My art work “My Mother’s Country” was selected as a finalist with Bluethumb Art Gallery’s art competition. It was also selected in the finalist People’s Choice Awards.
