“My Mother’s Country,” represents my mother’s first memories of growing up around Ooldea/Oak Valley on Kokatha Country on the Far west Coast of South Australia. My mother was born at Koonibba Mission on Wirangu Country near Ceduna where the Wirangu, Kokatha and Mirning Aborigines were resettled due to Government policies of colonisation. My mother was adopted by her Grandmother and her husband. They were rabbit trappers who did this a living. My Great grandmother, her husband and my mother lived a transient life along the West Coast of South Australia as they kept chasing casual work on farms to survive. My painting represents all the places they travelled to and the beautiful countryside they got to see.
Artwork on stretched canvas are wrapped around the frame and will be ready to hang instantly. If there is a size you require, please contact us today.
